Luka Doncic, Anthony Davis headline Lakers-Mavericks NBA blockbuster trade

The Dallas Mavericks are trading Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick, according to a report early Sunday morning by ESPN's Shams Charania.

In addition, the Utah Jazz are acquiring Jalen Hood-Schifino, the Los Angeles Clippers' second-round pick in 2025, and the Mavericks' second-round pick in 2025 in the deal.

About two years ago, Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase was at the Pro Bowl when he found out the Mavericks traded for Kyrie Irving. About one month after that, Chase said he got a signed Doncic jersey.

Doncic is in his seventh NBA season, all with Dallas. He's averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game this season, but has only played in 22 games.

Davis has played for the Lakers since the 2019-20 season. He played for New Orleans for seven seasons before joining the Lakers.
